After the 9/11, 2001 incident in U.S., airline business was severely affected and suffered the worst slump due to global recession.  Loss in billions of U.S. dollars has been estimated for the past years in the global airline industry…airline companies will take time to retrieve the battered balance sheets to heyday.  Airlines look at measures to boost revenue by acquiring more advanced aircraft, improving the services, offering low fare promo, and use the internet to promote the business.  There are positive signs that air traffic is starting to recover showing an increase in passenger figures.  Other airlines feel and see a recovery underway but still uncertain whether it will be self sustaining given the need for further adjustments and rebalancing of global economy. So airline industry faces more challenge in the operation.  Despite the signs of recovery risks remain. At present it is largely seasonal and unstable oil prices is also a negative factor.
